20 oz whole Brussels sprouts
6 slices thick cut bacon
4 cloves garlic, chopped
Salt and pepper
In a large pot, bring salted water to boil. Add the Brussels sprouts and boil them for about 8 minutes. Remove from heat, drain, and then chill them in the refrigerator for about ten minutes. Slice the sprouts in half when they have cooled. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until it is just crisp. Discard all but 2 tablespoons bacon grease. Add the garlic and sauté a few minutes until lightly browned. Add the sprouts and cook until heated through. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
I’ve had this at a dinner and loved it but never had a specific recipe for it. Thanks!
Also wanted to mention the recipe is a little unclear about what to do with the bacon once its cooked. :-)) Easy enough to figure out but perhaps you want to clarify within the recipe?

Glad you liked the recipe. And you don’t do anything to the bacon, like the recipe says, you drain some of the fat out and and the rest of the ingredients. The bacon stays. Well, I guess you could take it out if it was getting too crisp, but that isn’t what I did or the recipe says.
I think what she was expecting was an instruction to crumble the bacon. I wondered at leaving it whole in the dish, if it would break up during the cooking.
These look great though. I’ve never had Brussels sprouts, and have been meaning to try some. I’ll definitely throw some bacon in when I do.
Amara, Maybe that is what she meant, I have no idea, the bacon kind of just crumbles as you cook, once it is crisp, it breaks up when you stir in the brussel sprouts.
